South Carolina CWP (Concealed Weapon Permit)

The SC CWP class is designed to educate citizens on responsible ownership and carrying of firearms. It includes classroom instruction with a 50-question, multiple-choice test, a 25-round range qualification segment, and any Q&A necessary to clarify doubts. The class covers firearm safety and a shooting fundamental* review, South Carolina gun laws, principles of use of force, and safe storage practices. Although this certification is no longer necessary in South Carolina due to the implementation of Constitutional Carry in 2024, we recommend all responsible firearms owners to attend this class. Benefits to holding a CWP certification is concealed carry reciprocity with many other states when you are traveling, and it acts as a substitute for the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) when purchasing a firearm.

*This is not a "learn to shoot class." Basic experience with a handgun is required.
