CWP Registration & Rules

Training cost includes SLED-required fundamentals, legal aspects, shooting qualification, testing,
necessary documentation and course materials. If needed, a .22 caliber handgun and 25 rounds of ammunition will be available to use for qualification. Classroom training will be held at the Gun Vault of Conway and range qualification will be held at Palmetto State Armory, 914 Frontage Road E., Myrtle Beach, or The Gun Store, at 3594 Hwy 701 S., Conway, SC, based on specific dates and occupancy.

-No ammunition or loaded firearms permitted in the classroom.
-Please make sure your firearm and ammunition are in a case, bag or box before bringing into range.
-Please do not have magazines preloaded.
-No steel tipped or steel cased ammunition permitted.
-Please dress appropriately for the range: No sleeveless shirts or open-toed shoes.
-Please bring your firearm (.22 to .44 caliber only) plus 25 rounds of ammunition and hearing and eye
protection. If you do not have these items, they will be provided to you for no extra charge.
-Please bring pen or pencil with notepaper.
 

Classroom training will last approximately 4.5 hours beginning at 9:00 AM on your scheduled date and includes taking a 50-question multiple choice exam with a 70% score necessary for passing (35 correct).
 

After proceeding to the range, a 25-round qualification course will be held (5 rounds each at the 3, 5, 7, 9
and 12 yard lines) with 17 hits required within the silhouette of a standard LE target. Time at range based on number of students.
 

Cost is $100.00 , must be paid at the time of registration, and is not refundable. You must give 48 hours notice to reschedule your class and you are permitted ONE reschedule within 120 days. NO SHOWS are forfeited and cannot reschedule without additional payment.

IMPORTANT
 

This is not a “Learn to Shoot” class. You must be familiar with your handgun and have had some basic training and/or experience in the safe operation of it. You must be able to load, unload, and clear a malfunction while pointing it in a safe direction. Any signs of impairment, non-compliance with range rules, or any behavior deemed to be unsafe by the instructor or range personnel will result in your immediate removal from the class with forfeit of payment and the inability to train with us in
the future. Endorsement of the Range Rules and Waiver is required. After succesfully passing the CWP class you will be provided with the necessary paperwork and instructions on how to apply for your permit through SLED (South Carolina Law Enforcement Division) which is now cost free through a Ident-O-Go.
